My gear list looks like it escaped from three different adventures at once: a scuffed flashlight, two notebooks, a compass that mostly points toward coffee, spare batteries, tangled cords, a pocket knife, rain shell, lens cloth, trail map, and one mysterious carabiner nobody remembers buying.
