Trailkeep is free to use with an account. Pro lifts storage and itinerary limits.

Account types

Free

Creating a free account is quick and costs nothing. It unlocks persistent storage and the full feature set:

• Everything saved to your profile, accessible from any device
• Gear vault — build a reusable library of items to pull into any trip
• Collaborative editing — share a read-only or co-edit link with anyone, no account needed on their side
• Safety system — emergency contacts, Safety QR, GPS capture, trip-end overdue alerts, and Safety Timer

Free accounts have storage limits: up to 6 trips, up to 10 gear lists, and itinerary trips of up to 3 days each.

Pro

Pro has one core difference from Free: no limits.

• Unlimited trips — no cap on how many trips you can have in your account
• Unlimited itinerary days — plan trips of any length, not just 3-day windows
• Unlimited gear lists — no cap on lists in your account
• Clone long shared trips from others — copy creator routes that exceed the Free day cap

Everything else — the Safety Timer (return-by monitoring on all tiers; Check-in Timer where available), collaborative editing, GPS capture, trail companions — works the same on all tiers.

Pioneer (legacy)

If you signed up during open beta, you may have Pioneer access — equivalent to Pro with a badge on shared content. Pioneer is not assigned to new accounts. See Pioneer plan.

Feature comparison

Upgrade to Pro from the Pro button in the dashboard header (Free accounts), or open Settings → Plan ($5.99/month or $39.99/year). On mobile, Settings in the user menu opens the same dialog.
