Sharing a list
How to generate a public read-only gear list link and what visitors see.
Every list in the Pack Planner can be shared as a public, read-only gear list page at /gear-list/[id]. No login is required to view it.
Generating a link
- Open your Pack Planner in the dashboard
- Click the Share button in the header
- If no link exists yet, click Generate share link
- Copy the URL and share it
Links are permanent until revoked. Revoking and resharing generates a new URL — the old link stops working immediately.
What visitors see
- List name and description
- Author username, Pioneer badge, and social links
- All categories and items with weights, prices (if enabled), quantities, notes, and URLs
- Weight distribution chart with unit selector
- Weight totals: total, base, worn, consumable
Cloning a list
Logged-in visitors see a Clone button next to the list name. Cloning copies the full list — all categories and items — into their own Pack Planner as a new list.
No account is required to view a gear list. An account is required to clone it.
Copying individual items to your vault
Every item on a shared gear list has a small + icon on the left side of the row. Clicking it copies that single item — including its weight, unit, notes, URL, and flags — directly into your Gear Vault.
This is useful when you want to borrow one or two pieces of gear from someone else's list rather than cloning the entire thing.
An account is required to copy items to the vault. If you are not logged in, clicking the + icon shows a prompt to sign in first.
Revoking a gear list link
Use Stop Sharing in the Share dialog. Revoking and resharing generates a new URL — the old link stops working immediately.
